Location: Tenerife

One of the most beautiful sights of early springtime in Spain is the blossoming of the almond trees. There is a legend behind this natural phenomenon...

The Legend of Gilda and the Almond Blossoms

This story goes back to the time when the Moors ruled Spain. The Sultan Ibn Almundin married his blond and blue-eyed slave Gilda, who came from a frozen land. Unfortunately, she didn't feel happy because she missed her cold and snowy homeland. The Sultan tried to find a way to create a similar landscape in Spain. He ordered hundreds of almond trees and he planted them around his castle. When they blossomed it seemed as if the hills were covered with snow, which made Gilda happy.

Title: Queen of Waves

Model: Gabriela Barnat
Styling: COSEL
Storytelling: Gabriela Barnat
Location: Valencia (Spain)

Spring/summer collection by the Polish slow fashion brand COSEL.

Across many mythologies there exists a goddess of the water. In Greece she is called Cymopoleia. In Scandinavia, her name is Rán, a mother of nine girls, spirits of the waves. In Greenland, she is known as Sedna, the Mother of the Sea and protector of marine animals. The Queen of waves appears in many forms and shapes. She is playful, intuitive, creative, and brave. She teaches us to listen to the chiming of our own inner rhythms and to be in touch with our intuitive nature. Next time when you sea the waves crashing on the cliff, think of the sea deities who create those swells.

Geothermal area
Krysuvik
Moss
Lakes and mountains
Basalt columns

There is an important link between the beauty of Icelandic fashion and the Icelandic landscape. The capricious and harsh character of Mother Nature made her the most influential trendsetter in terms of the color and quality of clothing in Iceland.

My Style, My Business! Under this slogan, Joanna Walaś and I ran a contest for women in which the main prize was a professional photo shoot in Bema Studio in Wrocław.

By focusing attention on the individual characteristics of the contestants, we wanted to highlight the diverse beauty of women. Our goal was to encourage women to emphasize what distinguishes them from others, and what is especially unique about them. They were encouraged to define themselves without comparing themselves to others, and without looking outside.

During our action, I was responsible for both clothing the contestants and writing about the lives they lived. I chose designs from the Cosel brand, which are inspired by the underwater world: fish, snails, coral reefs, etc.

Joanna Walaś took care of coordinating the work of our beauty experts - make-up artists and hair stylists. The day before the photo shoot, the winners of the contest were invited to Good Vibes Studio salon for a manicure and facial treatments carried out by @nicole_bukiej_instruktor and @karolina_burdzy.pmu. We also got lots of support from brands. The Muk Haircare brand provided a studio, as well as professional hair styling and care products. The Ida Restaurant served amazing food during the photo shoot, and Organique prepared a beautiful set of cosmetics for each woman.

Pictures and stories about the contestants are available on @mojepiekno.mojasprawa

Contestants:

Paulina:
Don't let her angelic hair and sky-blue eyes fool you. Paulina is as inconspicuous as a black panther - mysterious and strong. She walks silently on the ground, straining all her senses and observing her surroundings. Love and dedication to other people are her greatest values. This is why she decided to study psychology, and in this field her perceptiveness will serve her well.

Agnieszka:
With the numerological number 11, Agnieszka is a woman full of contrasts. On the one hand, she is delicate and vulnerable, and on the other hand, she is strong and fights for herself like a lioness. She attributes her openness, curiosity and social skills to these interplaying opposites. Agnieszka practices gratitude on a daily basis. She is passionate about fashion, which has become a form of her expression and a way that she emphasizes her individuality.

Iwona:
A self-aware woman. Thanks to many years of practice and life coaching studies, she gained tools that helped her get to know herself better and precisely define her needs. Iwona emanates an energy that is like a magnet and fire. It attracts, triggers enthusiasm and ignites passion in others. She knows how to ask good questions. That is why conversation with her is full of inspiration.

Patrycja:
A woman who has the courage to break down her barriers. Patrycja's path to self-knowledge led her through the acceptance of her body. Having begun to lose excess weight, she gained the confidence she needed to thin even further and take on new professional challenges. One dream has already come true. She moved to her beloved city Gdańsk, where she can live close to the water.

Iza:
She sees beauty in things that others pass by indifferently. Her sensitivity, sentimental nature, and great eye for photography are especially appreciated by women. Iza quickly gains their trust and makes them feel safe with her. She talks openly about her painful experiences and is not afraid of taboo topics. Iza would like every person to have the opportunity to have a portrait that reflects both their inner and outer beauty.
